OK, so yesterday I bought 16GB of Corsair Vengeance RAM for my 2012 uMBP. However, I didn't realise about the voltage issue.

I've search many threads on many forums can't find a straight answer. Should I take back this RAM and get Mac specific RAM(like OWC) or should just use it?

I would test, but there's 15% restocking fee if I open it.

Just put in your computer.
If it doesn't work, just throw your Mac away and get a new one.

It'll work, there is no such thing as "Mac specific RAM", companies just stamp that on their products as an excuse to ramp the price up. A Mac is an Intel PC in a pretty package, but it's still a PC.

Well, I took the plunge. You guys were right - It appears to be working correctly. The computer seems to be okay with it. Hopefully there are no long term effects from using 1.5v RAM.
