I am debating on buying the 2.66ghz 15" macbook pro from the apple website and receive the "free Ipod". The lowest price that I have found for this computer is $1,799 after $150 rebate with free shipping and no tax. If I bought it from the apple store it would cost me $2,223 -$229 rebate for the ipod (this price includes $145 worth of tax). Is it really worth getting the ipod touch? or should I just purchase it for $1,949 and send in the $150 rebate?

Do you need a ipod touch? If yes then get it from apple.

If not do the rebate. Just make sure your buying the newer machine (no express card slot) and not a older one.

Thanks for the reply. I currently have a 80gb video ipod but it has gotten a bit bulky to work out in, so the touch might be a good deal. Is there any benefit to buy from apple?

If you're getting it from Apple and you're getting a free iPod you should be getting the education discount as well.

yeah that price is including the education discount, tax, and the ipod
