So right now I have the iPhone 6, it has a cracked screen (two weeks ago at a beach party) and it's battery...well we all are familiar with the battery. As the "old" iPhone that it is, it's lagging quite a lot and getting slower at really easy tasks.
With the iPhone 8 coming up, I don't know what should I do. If I should buy the iPhone 8, go for an iPhone 7s Plus or wait for the next iPhone to come in September 2018.
I do want the newest possible handset but I don't know if spending $1000 or more is worth it

Wait and see what's announced in the coming weeks. If you like it enough and the price doesn't murder your budget, go ahead. If not, get last year's model.

I wouldn't spend money on the 6 unless I needed it as a backup.

Wait. You will have two options between the OLED model and 7S. The only way to know if the OLED model is 'Worth' it, is to making that decision after the Keynote.
