Call apple and give them the serial number

I've had that issue with the website with many things I've bought and registered with Apple.

The same products I find are still covered by warranty and Apple does actually know the purchase date. Only once I'd had to fix the coverage date by providing a copy of my receipt.

the website is crap

i bought a Nano in an Apple store. i tried to activate the AppleCare - it said it couldn't validate the serial number or something. i called up and did it over the phone with a customer service representative. he said the website is always having issues
