I need a new Watch, stainless steel preferred, 44/45mm. My choices are:
Refurb 6 from Apple w/sportband - $599
New 7 with leatherlink - $799

Has anyone had problems with refurbed watches?
Are the new features worth $200?

TIA

As long as you're buying the refurb'd from Apple, it will look and feel brand new. The only difference is that it comes in a generic white box. I have purchased refurb'd from Apple plenty of times and you shouldn't have any issues.

That's a 25% savings with the same warranty as brand new. I've never bought a watch through Apple's refurb store, I have bought iPads and several Macs... nary an issue with any of them.

It’s a good deal and I don’t think that the differences between S6 and S7 are 200$ worth. Both are great choice and depend on your budget

Why are you comparing S6 refurb with sports band to S7 with leather link? You should compare it to S7 with sports band, which is $749, so your saving is $150.

I do think even a $150 saving makes the refurb S6 a good deal, but let's not mix up the difference in band price into the consideration of differences among watch generations.

I use the leather link price because I want one. The comparison is between the items i might buy so a proper apples-to-apples isn't meaningful. If I could buy a refurbished w/leather then I would.

But if you buy the refurb, would you be buying the leather link to use with it? Then your total price would be $599 + whatever the price is of the leather link. Or you are going to use it with the sports band, which is not your first choice for a band? Then that also factors in as a "cost" in terms of your enjoyment of the product.

The refurb isnt availab in leather, nor is the new with a sport band. I‘d like a leather because it would be different but it wouldn’t really impact my enjoyment. I have 3 bands for my defunct 3 - sport band, sport loop, and knock-off Milano - and I swap every few weeks just for fun. Esthetically the sport loop is my least favorite but it’s most comfortable so I wear it.

You’ll get a spectrum of answers ……. For me the features are worth $200 but only you can decide. ?

Lots of threads and opinions on the differences worth a read and you can decide.
I've read many of the threads, and the only difference that's stuck in my mind is the screen size. Just wondered if I missed somethng, and if so, could someone point them out.

Unlike refurbished iPhones and iPads, refurbished watches do NOT come with new batteries or a new case!

So, there is a bit of a crapshoot going with refurbished. I ended up ruling out refurbished watches on that basis alone. Although this is a case where one could order one, see what the battery wear and case are like, and then return if not satisfied.
