Hi all,

I'll be teaching in Japan for several weeks this summer and would love to be able to access the files on my iMac at home. My question, though, is this: is it worth paying for MobileMe when I won't be using any other features besides "Back to my Mac"?

I'll be bringing my wife's MacBook with me, so couldn't I simply use iChat to access my desktop? Perhaps this is inconvenient as we'd have to leave an iChat connection open, and would prevent my wife from using the iMac while I'm "hijacking" it. Just wondering...

Thanks for any advice you may have :)
David

Do a free trial first. Back to my mack is the most glitchy and finicy part of MobileMe. It is not "plug and play" by any means. There are major network issues that need to be very specific for it to work. I have not had success since day one.

Look into it.
