Given all the hoopla over the switch-to-Intel and should I bother waiting the 1.5 years to something (and yes, I know most of it is overhyped), and given that I have fairly modest computing needs (office, net, etc.), would an older, used TiBook at 867 MHz or 1 GHz still be a good buy?

The only thing that *really* worries me is the lack of warranty and support.

An old TiBook would be a good buy it will be able to do any basic tasks and most of the advanced ones...

the only problem as you mentioned is the lack of warranty, but i guess if youre lucky you probably wont experience any problems anyway.

The other problem with older notebooks is there small Hard Drives.

If these are not major factors to you then an older powerbook would be a very good purchase.

Shadow
