I've looked for a clear answer to this and haven't found one. I have an iPhone 3GS with 4.2.1 and Greenpoison JB working perfectly well.

The only possible value for me in upgrading to 4.3.1 would be for the supposed increased speed in safari using the nitro javascript engine (not bothered about airplay or ping).

So has anyone either (a) upgraded a 3GS and found a noticeable speed increase, or more helpfully (b) seen benchmarks showing better 3GS performance in safari after upgrading to 4.3.1?

If you don't use safari there certainly isn't that I can see. The speed boost doesn't apply to alternate browsers like atomic which I use. Not really in a rush here myself.
