I've had the 2016 13" Touch Bar since day one and I've been really happy with how well it's holding up (bar a battery replacement).
It's a 2-core i5 with only 8GB ram and I notice it struggling occasionally, but otherwise it runs as new.
I'm finally tempted to upgrade to the new 14" 8-core M1 Pro, assuming the difference in performance and power would be significant. Part of me feels like I could save the money and keep the current machine chugging along, but I'd really like to be able to do some light video editing without having to be at my desktop or play a basic game on steam without the RAM maxing out and burning my lap.
Is anyone else making the jump from the 2016? Or can anyone vouch for the difference in the M1 from a 2-core?
The fussiest part of me wishes they just kept the 4 USB-C ports - I don't need the others and the MagSafe is on the wrong side for me. I think it looks less neat, but I guess I'll never notice. Touch Bar I get light use out of, but I don't think I'll miss it.
