Hello. My question is pretty much what the title states. We are looking to get back into some music making and dabble in some podcasting.

As far as music goes, I am not talking about 20 tracks simultaneously running. Perhaps, 10 at the most and more than likely recorded separately. Podcasting, however, will include 4-8 people live at the same time...most likely only 4 at a time, though.

Anyhow, I am looking at the 13" MacBook Pro i5/8GB version. I know that is only dual core, so that is why I am asking: Will this model be good enough for what I described?

Thank you in advance for you help, advice and responses.

Of course it works. You could even get a second hand iPad,and an old guitar, then make a square iPad-sized hole in the guitar, after removing strings, then, with some rubber padded clamps, attach the iPad in the hole, start garage band, and become a diy guitar hero.
