Would a Beatles reunion have lived up to the hype?

I think at this point even the biggest die-hards have given up on a Beatles reunion, but if it had actually happened in the late 70s or 80s as so many predicted - either on SNL in New York (with the original lineup) or at Live Aid in London (with Julian Lennon filling in for John) do you think it would have been a good thing or a bad thing?

At the risk of being flamed, the Beatles themselves don't live up to their hype, so why would a reunion have?

While I don't having feelings for the Beatles one way or another, I think that what people might have imagined it would be like would far exceed what it would have actually been like. Better to let people imagine great(er)ness...

Technically they could still have a reunion. I wouldn't expect a lively show though.

Yea, that was kind of the point of no return. I say that as a massive Beatles fan too. I don't think it could be pulled off today.

Agreed. It would have been wonderful. It is a shame that they broke up.
