My macbook pro 15's screen is dead and I don't want to buy a new one. I've been using it connected to my tv for a while now and the display has started to feel irritating and unnecessary so I wanna get rid of it completely.

Would the laptop still work if I removed the display?

Does anyone know a good how to guide? (please keep in mind that it will be the first time I will be opening up a laptop)

Thanks...

I can't do that because I'm still using the keyboard and the trackpad, but thanks for the advice!

Man stop being cheap and get a keyboard and mouse. Kills me how people would rather risk further damage than spend a few bucks and avoid it.

:D I guess you're right. I was kinda bored and felt like trying something new. But is there a risk involved in removing a display?

There is the risk of it not booting at all without a display as well as dust getting all in you MacBook and causing more problems later. I say just buy a cheap USB KB/MS combo and use it in clamshell mode.

Thanks for showing me the right way to go.
