So I'm desperately in need of a new mbp, I came across a mid spec mbp with a broken Touch Bar but with a price that is significantly cheaper than others (1100$, suppose to ~1700$ for the fully working ones). My thought is if the Touch Bar is going to be replaced when you have a keyboard replacement anyway (the whole top case), and I only "intended" to have a keyboard replacement, would they allow it to happen? If not how much apple will charge for it? Will it worth the hassle?

Edit: I've had the replacement once for my old machine. They told me that as long as there's no liquid damage on the machine, it'd be eligible for it.

What model and year is it? This is a used MBP? The eligibility is based on 4 years from the date of its first sale, not when you buy it.

The Keyboard Service Program does have a caveat: "If your MacBook, MacBook Air, or MacBook Pro has any damage which impairs the service, that issue will need to be repaired first. In some cases, there may be a cost associated with the repair." It would be up to Apple to determine whether a broken touchbar would impair the repair.

It seems like a big risk to buy that machine not knowing if it's still eligible under the program, and if it would even ever need the replacement.

Maybe take a look at the like-new Apple Refurb MacBook Pros, which come with the one-year warranty and option to buy Applecare. The shipping is very fast for the refurbs.

It's an A1990 from 2018. I'm more into used market (I know buying straight from apple would be cool, but my budget wouldn't allow). Thanks for the information.
