Would Airport Extreme Provide Higher Speed?

Hello Everyone!

I am considering purchasing an Airport Extreme. It would be replacing a Netgear N600. With the N600, through a cable modem, I am current getting a speed of about 16-18Mbps down and 2Mbps up. Can anyone tell me if I might get quicker speeds with the Airport Extreme?

it wont increase your internet speed, itll only help with network speeds ie. streaming from within your network and file sharing b/w computers

Your internet speed is capped by your ISP, so no router will help you in that regard.

You have internet speed and local network speed. It won't increase yor internet speed but may increase your local network speed depending on the wifi link and whether your devices use AC.
