My fiancée and I took some engagement pictures last weekend. It has been around 5 years since I have used Photoshop. I attempted to edit them but I have lost all creativity. I even tried using a tutorial but I couldn't follow it because it skip steps on how to do things and I wasn't able to recall how to do it.

The reason for the thread is to see if anyone would be kind enough to edit just a few photos for us.

Thanks for taking the time to read my thread.

What kind of edits are you looking at?
Maybe this can help?
http://psd.tutsplus.com/

Thanks for the URL and reply. I am going to look at the link to see if it can help.

One particular edit I would like to do is their is one that our heads our sticking out around a tree. I would like to have it look like some hearts and maybe some wording was carved into the tree. This was the tutorial I wasn't able to follow.

Maybe one where we are color and the background is black and white.
Any creative and simple edits like these are what I am trying to do.

Thanks again for your input.

Maybe provide a link to that tutorial and tell us what is missing, so you can complete the tut.

Use the polygonal Lasso tool (L) and draw a mask around you (zoom in as much as necessary), then feather it (1 or 2 pixels, maybe more depending on the accuracy of your mask). Copy the selection and paste it into a new layer and apply colour effects to the layers you want.

Thanks for your help simsaladimbamba.

The carving in the tree is next. I will run through the tutorial again as you suggested. If I get stuck again, I will come back for help.

Thank you for your help on this. :apple:

Your attachments don't work, maybe they are the wrong size or format.
Attaching an image to your post

Ups, now they work.
Good work with the mask. Onto carving then, but would you be so kind to provide the link to that tutorial about carving?

You like the crooked horizon?

Not really now that you mention it. I didn't even notice it until I went to type the text and had to rotate it to make go down the bench.

I guess the ground was slanted where we took the picture. I will try rotating the entire picture to hopefully fixed the crooked horizon. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I'm new so any advice is helpful.

I have been adjusting your picture a little and came up with this.

Alright. You all may laugh but I tried adding our little boy into the picture. We never took any pictures with him so I tried adding him in. It didn't turn out so well:

I also tried following this tutorial to add carving into the tree: http://www.graphics.com/modules.php?name=Sections&op=viewarticle&artid=512 . It didn't turn out well at all  . I guess I am going to give up on the tree because I have no idea what I am doing wrong.
