Would eGPU improve 2019 MBA performance with 4K monitor (no gaming or graphics editing)

I feel using MBA with external 4K monitor is more sluggish with multiple windows open. My work-provided 2019 MBA cpu is i5 with 16GB of RAM. I am not sure if it is the limitation of CPU or GPU. I do game or video editing. But lots of Zoom meeting and occasional 3D rendering for work. Anyone have experience for non gaming usage of eGPU on MBA?
