Hi! I have an early 2008 15.4" MacBook Pro. The logicboard died, and it also has a big dent by the case seal and I had to replace the keyboard.

I am thinking of getting it fixed. I can get a 2.4 Ghz logic board in there for $100 less than if I get a 2.6 ghz.

Will I miss the lower video memory (256mB instead of 512MB)and level 2 cache (3 instead of 6)?

I only browse the Internet and use Photoshop occasionally. I will get a new Macbook pro someday but not yet...

Thanks for any help!

Sounds like a good, frugal repair that fits within your budget. That Macbook should give you a few more good years.

There will be no difference with perceived performance, and actual performance differences will be negligible. Go for it.
