Would it be a good idea to use the AMD trinty processors in the MBA since it has less power usage(17 TPD) the built in GPU is suburb and it generally is better.
the i5 and i7 are also 17W, and the only thing (slightly) better for Trinity is the video component.
The processor is behind the "old" Sandy Bridge architecture, while the video is anywhere between 15-20% on average better (in games) than the new HD4000 from Ivy Bridge (actually it depends, as in some games the HD4000 is better than A10).
So short answer: NO.

Never really trusted AMD processors as much as Intel.
and they are both 17W
My AMD phenom machine is working perfectly![]()
You *really* must have had a bad batch try the newer ones?My AMD Phenom II failed twice in my self built machine...
After that I switched to Intel and I had no problems.
It may just be me or those time when your product fails multiple times, you just lose trust in it.
You *really* must have had a bad batch try the newer ones?
If Im thinking to build a new one, I will
Currently Im trying to build a Hackintosh so soon as that is finished, I will build a Windows desktop with AMD!
Thats a good boybut seriously the trinity and phenom lines are really good for what I do i.e gaming.
I will try it!
Which video card goes well with it?
I was thinking to go AMD radeon HD again with it.
The AMD radeon HD 7970 is super good and since your processor is AMD as well every thing will tie in perfectly![]()
Awesome! Thanks for the info!
Almost done with my hackintosh... All I need to do is buy few more parts and put them together.
As soon as Im done with this guy, new gaming machine here I come!![]()
Can you please keep me informed would love to see the bench marks of that thing!
Of the AMD or the hackintosh?
Almost out of Uni for summer so I will get full time working on it![]()
Both is fine![]()
Alright! I got you
Gotta start savin some cash $$$ XD
AwesomeIm building one of mine at the end of the year the specs are here:
CPU:Intel i5 2500k
RAM:16GB Corsair vengeance
HDD:64GB boot up SSD(Intel) plus 4 512GB HDD 7200 in RAID 0
Graphics card:two Nvidia GeForce GTS 450 in cross fire
Case:Cooler master HAF XM
OS:Windows 7 ultimate(with student discount)
MOBO:Gigabyte P67A-D3-B3
That is going to be one fast machine!
Except Im going with 2 HDD since I have to upgrade my MBP's HDD with optibay and SSD.
So much to do XP
You're going with Sandy instead of Ivy?
Im actually doing the same since I heard about the OC heat problem with Ivy.
Yeah the heat is an issue I would love to not be part of but I have cut 2 HDD out of there.
Space is going to be a issue when SSD price arent lowering and HDD prices are rising...
