Would it be a good idea to use the AMD trinty processors in the MBA since it has less power usage(17 TPD) the built in GPU is suburb and it generally is better.

the i5 and i7 are also 17W, and the only thing (slightly) better for Trinity is the video component.

The processor is behind the "old" Sandy Bridge architecture, while the video is anywhere between 15-20% on average better (in games) than the new HD4000 from Ivy Bridge (actually it depends, as in some games the HD4000 is better than A10).

So short answer: NO.

No,the sandy bridge and ivy bridge don't have 17 TPD at least where I have read it.

My AMD Phenom II failed twice in my self built machine...
After that I switched to Intel and I had no problems.

It may just be me or those time when your product fails multiple times, you just lose trust in it.
You *really* must have had a bad batch try the newer ones?

The AMD radeon HD 7970 is super good and since your processor is AMD as well every thing will tie in perfectly:)

Awesome! Thanks for the info!
Almost done with my hackintosh... All I need to do is buy few more parts and put them together.
As soon as Im done with this guy, new gaming machine here I come! :D

That is going to be one fast machine!
Except Im going with 2 HDD since I have to upgrade my MBP's HDD with optibay and SSD.

So much to do XP

You're going with Sandy instead of Ivy?
Im actually doing the same since I heard about the OC heat problem with Ivy.

Yeah the heat is an issue I would love to not be part of but I have cut 2 HDD out of there.
