I have a case on and dust gets trapped in the charging port, microphone, and speaker on the bottom of the phone. Does anyone else ever use a vacuum to clean the dust without removing the case? Using a cloth doesn't get everything even when I remove the case.

yes. safe.
ive even used a toothpick to gently loosen dust and pocket lint from that opening and then used an air spay blast.
maybe that way could force dust further into the iphone, but ive never had any problem.
the port i have done that on was Lightening. i don't know about USB-C.

I don't think a vacuum cleaner would be strong enough to get impacted dust out of a lightning port. Like arc of the universe, I used a wooden toothpick and a can of compressed air to clean the lightning port on my iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro. My iPhone 17 Pro with USB-C is only a few weeks old, so no experience with that one.
