Would it be worth it to buy this Mac?

I'm looking at a Mac book from mid 2009(released in May) and it is the non unibody one. I mainly use my current laptop for internet use and school work and I want to try out a mac. I found one for $400, is that a reasonable price?

Agreed. Battery may be shot (maybe), but you can either replace it or just keep it plugged in. Do make sure it is cosmetically in good shape though. I've seen some pretty rough Macbooks....

It appears to be in excellent condition except for a crack on the palm rest which I hear is pretty common on these models.

You could probably get the case replaced at the Applestore.
