So I just got done converting a 4 min long 1080p music video file on my 2011 13" i5 MBA to put on my iPhone using Videora. The CPU Usage was at 95%, and the fans were going nuts! Louder and faster than I've heard them yet.

Just out of curiosity, would this be the same on a MacBook Pro??

Yep, as video transcoding is CPU intensive, and high CPU intensity does need more power, and more power generates more heat, and the fans spin faster to get rid of that additional heat.
