Would newer graphics effect a Parallels 10.6?

I know nothing about using VMs and am not sure how to go about this, would replacing my 5870 with something newer effect how 10.6 runs in Parallels? The only reason I keep 10.6 around is for some scanner software that isn't compatible with 10.7+.

Last I checked, Mac guest VMs didn't support graphics acceleration at all anyway.
