I immediately assume all comments like that are being said in a snide way rather than a joking way. lol
IMO and according to the Buyer's Guide we won't see a new model till next year. As for updates, possibly (but a bit unlikely) late Dec early Jan.

well intel stated that they will not release i7 mobile processors until the first quarter of 2010 to help retailers sell the core 2 duo processor units... the i7 processors are about 7-8% faster than their core 2 duo counterparts. So any possible upgrade apple will do will not be too major until then I think.
