Would this be a good external monitor for the MBP?

if you look around (try slickdeals.net), I am pretty sure you can get a U2311 which uses a IPS LCD panel for less than this Samsung.

It does not have a tuner though. Just curious, will you be using antenna? cause a HDTV tuner is only good for over the air HD not cable or satellite, but this means the monitor probably has speakers.
 
i suppose it's good for tv and gaming. i assume it's what you're looking for. It is different than mbp's display. low contrast and all, so you will need tweaking on the external display so it looks similar. Other than that, sure buy it. :D

Found a seller on eBay selling the U2311's for 279$ each :) they looks like really nice monitors! :eek:

I swear you could get one from Dell with coupons posted on slickdeals for $240. Its worth a search of their site.

I am very happy with my UltraSharp 2408WFP by the way.

Didn't find anything on slickdeals using the search tool on the site.
