I'm looking to possibly buy a Samsung Syncmaster T260HD. I've found a place to buy it for about $100 less than the going rate. I am just wondering if this would be a good purchase. I plan on hooking it up to my 12" PowerBook G4 to use as an external monitor and to use it as a television (i'm in college). Is there anybody out there who can offer advice or insight on this? Is it a good deal? Is the product a good one? Would my money be better spent elsewhere? (I'm planning on buying an iMac next year when the next gen comes out. Would it be worth it to have another display at that point?)

Thanks.

T240

I have had the T240 for over a month now and it gives a great picture and looks good. It runs off my MBP or my wife's Vaio SX at full resolution. I am using the RGB profile, not the Samsung one as this gives too light and washed out picture but try the Adobe or std RGB profile and it is fine.

I've had my T260HD for two months now and it's an outstanding product!

It has every cable option you could want (includes DVI-D cable in the box) and it's a great over the air HD TV as well, I mainly use mine for video/photo editing with my 15" MBP.

If you can get one for around $500 jump on it, I paid $549 for mine on sale at Best Buy and feel like it was money very well spent.
