It says it works.for 2011 imac so it should in theory work on 2012...
 
Yes, i don't see why not. Should work with any apple device. It's a standard mini-display port to hdmi cable.
 
Note that that cable is for Mini-Displayport/Thunderbolt output to an external display, not input to the iMac's display.

Most any Mini-Displayport to HDMI cable should do the same.

Ah ok thanks, i guess they don't do something that will be the reverse of this cable??

Ummm, you can buy the same cable from Amazon for like 5 bucks..

Yh i misread it. Thought it would show hdmi device on imac

They do make something that's the reverse, but it only works on the 2009 and 2010 iMacs, not the 2011 or 2012 models.
