This is a windows based 5th gen ipod btw...
and it will be the first time i'm using mac

So I download itunes and DON'T let it autosync
I connect the iPod
It recognizes it as a device and puts it on the desktop
I open the thing on the desktop with all my music (I hope it has track names and such)
I put it to ____?____ file in my computer
after I put them all in the file I go file import?

Does it matter which file to put it in to import?

idk if that will work but theres a program called senuti that will take all the music off your ipod device and put it into your itunes library so you can then sync it with a new computer and keep it updated whenever you download new music.

this will take all the clutter out and organize the tracks into folders just like you ripped all the music with itunes.
