If I took a hard drive with windows vista installed on it and everything (I am basically taking a hard drive from a windows desktop and putting it into my Mac)

so the whole OS system would still be on the hard drive and everything. Could I still run Vista?

Probably, but the process will waste some of your time:

1. MS "hardware change" bomb: MS can deactivate your windows if the hardware setting is different. You might have to waste time calling them to get a new code.

2. Drivers: you need to install Mac Pro drivers (easy), and possibly uninstall drivers specific to your previous computer (probably time consuming... that's windows for you).
