Imagine if Steve Jobs appeared in front of you. He supplies you with a key and an address -- and the location of a MacBook Pro. He instructs you to slam the owner's MacBook Pro on the floor and proceed to beat it with a hammer. Your reward: a new, fully loaded MacBook Pro of your choice that will include Final Cut Pro, iWork '09, and many other programs for the Mac.

Would you do it?

As tempting as it may be that is just a jerk thing to do and would not do it but I still secretly would want to do it and get it.

I can't believe anyone voted yes in this poll. It may go a long ways in explaining the shape of our world today.

Working for something and finally achieving it, makes you appreciate something so much more. Breaking another person's property is just plain wrong.

Yup. Agreed 110%.:)

You my friend need to use a bit more logical reasoning here. You don't just smash someone's MBP. Their hard drive has valuable info that could be destroyed. The MBP is replaceable, the hard drive isn't if it's destroyed. If the guy's MBP was like 5 years old and it was super slow and it was a lower end model, and you replace the guy's with a maxed out MBP with a 512 GB SSD and somehow manage to sneak into his house and use a time machine back while he's asleep up so he won't lose any data, then maybe, but no he could still get you in legal trouble even if he gladly accepts the new MBP.

I would

BUT! I would give the new one to the victim in the tale. It would be fun, and its a win-win. I get to obliterate a macbook, and the other guy gets a souped up one :D

Why are you taking this so seriously?

+1. OP is just wondering. Hes not asking for advice on a real life situation. People here are taking this way to seriously

only if they were carrying it while riding a bike and I could do it with my car. that way it's ok I only have to say I did not see them.
only in America can you run anyone over including a cop while they are on a bike and get away with it.

What about "would you smash someone else's iPod if it got you an new, fully loaded MBP 17 with the gloss or anti-glare of your choosing?"
