Maybe it's because I'm crazy, or like attractive shiny things to decorate my Mac lair - I plan on buying the full version of Snow Leopard when it's released, just for the pretty box art.

Sure I'll take advantage of the $10 upgrade to SL for peeps who bought Mac PC's after June 8th - but this iMac I plan on purchasing on July 1st is my truly first iMac (my current iMac G4 is a loan computer from work) and I want an attractively boxed copy of Snow Leopard to go with it. Bit shallow, maybe

:)

Nope... I care nothing for the box

So you want to pay 120$ for a simple box, that has some art on it, just so you can put in another box or on a shelf?

Sorry, but that 120$ could be spend for better things like an external HDD for Time Machine backups or a proper mice family.

EDIT:
As you buy your iMac after June 8th, you will have the right to obtain SL for 9$, but it will be a simple DVD with art on it and put in a simple white CD/DVD envelope.

The $30 Snow Leopard will probably be what they sell in the retail stores alongside the Snow Leopard Boxed Set and will look similar to the Leopard box (I'm guessing). So, yeah.

 Well, yes. Wow I suddenly feel like such a total geek. Or maybe, I've always been one.

Great news, maybe I'll be able to save money and have a pretty trinket for my mac lair.

For $29 I wouldnt mind! But if, IF, Apple charged $130 I would've definitely thought hard about it! I'm not the one for missing something out in my imperial collection of Mac OS X boxes :D

Umm, you may not have watched the keynote, but it isn't going to cost $120 - it id going to be $29.

(As a side note, 10.3-10.5 cost $129 when released, not $120) lol :apple:

I was referring to the price, when you hadn't Leopard, but Tiger and wanted to get Snow Leopard, so one would have to pay 129$, instead of the 9$ it will cost the OP since he will buy a Mac in July.
I was a little bit confused as it seems, as the 29$ version might still be a simple box.

We will find out then I think.

A box is just the icing on the cake! I want Snow Leopard, because I like having new, updated things which most other people (my age, at my school, with older Mac machines) don't have..

Wow, I just realised I'm a big show off..
