Having had the S4 with the S-View case for a while now, I cannot say how awesome I think flip covers/smart cases/etc. are. They're more convenient than they think, add a more professional look to the device, and offer some nice functionality. It also offers some protection on the screens against scratches, which is a plus.

If Apple made a Smart cover/case for the iPhone, or even one like the HTC Dot case, Samsung S-View, or LG Circle Cover, would you buy one? I certainly would.
 
I'd say the bigger the phone, the more likely I am to buy one. Especially if a 5.5 iPhone 6 comes out. I'd definitely like a smart cover.
 
I had a Tuff Luv leather flip case for my iPhone 4 but when I got my i5 I fancied a change and went naked. For my next phone I'll probably get another flip case. I do like the way that the official Samsung and HTC cases switch the screen on when opened.
 
I only like the smart cover when it bypasses the lock screen, and i wouldnt want to do that on my phone, but a cover might still be cool.
 
I wouldn't do a flip case because it covers the screen. I use my iPhone too frequently to have a flip case.

Like many I've tried numerous different styles of cases.

I currently use the official leather case on my ip5s

I'm certainly open minded so yes I'd give one a go.

The only cases I don't like on my phones are magnetic versions.
