I was offered, from the Apple Store on Wednesday, a new 17" PowerBook. The manager was willing to sell to me for $1,500 or they were sending it back to Apple where it would end up on the clearance page. I jumped on it.

Would you have?

My reasoning was this. I prefer to wait for the updated MBP in the fall with the new chips... Plus work out all the bugs. At the very least I figure I could sell the PB in the fall and break even at $1500. Good rationale or not?

Comments Welcome.

I think that was a good move. I just went on the Apple website just to compare the prices but it looks like they took the 17" Powerbook off. The refurbs for for, what.. at least $1700? That sounds like a good plan to sell it later on and I think there's a good chance for you to break even. :)

I just sold my used 15" PB for $1550 on eBay. To get a brand-new 17" for that price is pretty good if you ask me! :)

Well, I guess I did make the right call... I was reluctant, but then excited. I love the thing... Now I am lusting for a MBP...

But I will wait until the fall.
