Would you like a “Power” mode with shorter battery life but stronger signal? I know that Apple balanced the signal strength to advertise 1 year of battery life, however, it would be cool if users could pick between a mode that prioritized battery life or a mode that prioritized signal strength. Personally I would gladly have more range even if it means changing the battery every 6 months. How about you?

Like the idea of a stronger signal, as the AirTag definitely need it to make it more usable on locating... However, don't like the idea of shorter battery life. I guess it depends on how short...

Like seinman said, I have nothing against it existing as an option, but I doubt I'd use it. I'd rather replace batteries less frequently, not more.

Power mode should be enabled when the AirTag is reported lost. If the battery life is then only another week instead of another year but there’s a better chance of being found then no problem.

It did its job and you replace the battery. Who cares about the battery life of an AirTag you already lost.

This would only be feasible if the AirTags themselves were rechargeable. I.e. from an Apple Watch charger puck. Other wise the amount of coin batteries would be ridiculous. As I severely doubt even one coin cell with normal power usage will last a year.
