I would like to make a test on how the new iPhone deals with these issues, make a video and post it on YouTube.

What do you think about it?

PC world will probably have one shortly after launch. I'm really interested to see it, but don't destroy a $600 cell phone for us lol.

Instead of scratching, spilling stuff on, and dropping iPhone 4, give it to someone who will love it and treat it correctly.

That ^ made me laugh.

I'd like to see a scratch test. Include having phone and keys in the same pocket and going for a mile walk.

I have no interest because:

1) It's wasteful

2) Your drop will be different from my drop -- if mine drops

3) If mine drops it will either be scratched, or not. It will either work or not. Your test will not do anything to improve my odds.

4) Just treat it w/ care. Put it in a good case. Accidents happen, but most can be prevented. That's the best way to avoid damage.

Agreed. I think the spill/drop test is not as important since it seems to always vary anyways. It would be nice to know how much the glass will scratch though.

Ps. I'm heading to Vegas tomorrow for a weekend long bachelor party. Can't wait!

Have fun! Dress light, it's hot as hell here.

The point of a drop/spill/scratch test is to help us decide if we should let the iPhone 4 go naked, or if we wrap it up in a case.

Esp if the test looks at real world situations (sand and keys scratching the front, the back, or the side metallic rim) etc.

The phone is beautiful including the back of it, I don't want to case it unless it's absolutely neccesary.

But OP, don't do this to your phone. PC World, Gizmodo, Engadget etc will likely do it since they make money off of hits. If you somehow break your phone, we would all feel horrible for you. :(

Nice! I just booked a long weekend there in July, so I'm worried about having my iPhone 4 there, and well not being in the right state of mind. Thinking about using my old 3G while I'm there
