OK, I know this one requires a little imagination, considering that the space shuttle hardly works these days, but try to think of it anyway:

Supposing that you could live on Mars, in a colony of some sort, and assuming you had a reasonable level of privacy and comfort, would you do it?

I think I would...at least for a while. Though I would miss the ocean, trees, and things like that.

And deal with Martian men? Never! :)

Seriously though, the space explorer in me would love the chance to set foot on another planet, just to be the first humans to do so.

luv ya bunches! xoxoxo

It would be an honor to be among the first to visit or stay on Mars, but unless I was a researcher, I don't see why I'd want to.

How's the Internet access from Mars?

I'd have to rate it on it's merits. But with no green fields and such I'd probably stay put. I like my nature.

transfer rate would be good enough (a few of recent mars rovers could make more than modem speed .. actually the softare for them wasn't finished untill they were already on their travel)
the latency would kill any surfing though

Yeah, but...

Mars is where man will be going to escape the Govts of the Earth, Its just a matter of time. On a serious note we should start Terraforming it now.

But would the Martian governments be any better? I don't think human tendencies are going to be any different on another planet.

As for terraforming...I don't think we quite have the technology, yet.

I'd need to do a little research...
