So perhaps this thread is alcohol oriented as i've been drinking tonight but i am wondering if the new MBP would convince you to sell your current MBP?
Obviously we don't know what the new MBP holds.

I'm a Apple employee and though we dont have an iPad to hold i'm coming closer to the conclusion that the iPad would be perfect for simple online viewing along with photo and video viewing along with photo viewing but as a true Apple fan, the MBP does so much more and better than the iPad. Everyday ppl ask me about the iPad (if its available) and I tell them its not out yet.

I have the 13inch MBP and the only way i'd sell mine is if the new MBP makes the trackpad real estate the full wrist area length; like as if the trackpad becomes more than just a big square and becomes a full rectangle allowing all 10 fingers on the trackpad for fukl functionality and though this may come through a pipedream, it may be the only way for me to consider selling my current 13 inch MBP and getting whatever new MBP may come next...

.... as for the iPad, though I do see it as an awesome conpanion for my simple basic web browsing, in no way do I see it as a replacement it for my MBP baby; there, I said it for everyone.

On a final note:

For the past few years have carried around my white Macbook and Macbook Pro with this following InCase Sling Backpack:

and though I do love this backpack; its gotten quite old. I've carried this backpack in China, Japan and Chicago and has been a dream in protecting my Macbook(s). But as recent days go by (bare with me, i've been drinking) I've realized its kinda a drag to carry this backpack around just for my Macbook... so i've been mentally tinkering with ways to carry around my mbp...as i've come across this method:

Iono, just a thought out loud but dont feel the need to no longer carry around a full backpack and feel/look like a tourist/college student and figured something unique should now be applied.
