Ok so I have on offer for my Unibody Macbook Pro 2.4 that I bought in November. It is pretty much standard with 7200 RPM 250GB HDD

This is what I have.

This is what he is offering me with no mouse or keyboard but he is adding $200.

Is it an even trade?

NO!!!NO!!!NO!!!
that iMac has got the old processor and only 3MB of L2 cache and uses DDR2 memory! your MacBook Pro is probably much better in terms of performance! But of course you get a bigger screen...

OR LET ME PUT IT THIS WAY,

with the same price you paid for your MBP, you can get a BRAND NEW iMac 24" with faster processor, faster memory, faster bus, more ram, better graphics, better energy efficiency and the new keyboard, instead of a 2-year-old iMac...

Yeah that's what I was thinking but I really am in need of cash and this guy made me this offer.

Is it really that much of a performance difference?

It also comes with applecare till 2012 he says but I am not sure.

Or how much do you think I can get for it?

I just sold my secretary's 18 month old, maxed out (at the time) 24" imac for $3000.

And I bought a four month old unibody MBP with 320GB@7200, 4GB, & 512 vid for under $1800.

So values are all over the place right now.

But yeah, I scored pretty big on that deal. :)

...so if you need the $$ and don't use some of it to buy a keyboard and mouse you won't have a working computer at the end of the day (unless you have a spare mouse and keyboard already)...

If you accept that offer, you will be downgrading, and because of the keyboard and mouse, you won't have any cash left.
If you need cash and still want downgrade, then sell you MBP, and buy a refurbished MB. You should have some moneys left, then...
