iPhone 15 Pro Max Would you wait for the 17 Pro Max or just get a 15 Pro Max on a deal now?

While I’m currently content with my 13 Pro Max, I can trade it in for $350 so I was thinking of upgrading to a brand new $900 15 Pro Max for the following:

• USB-C port
• 5x telephoto lens
• 48mp main sensor
• 2000 nit display outdoors
• 256gb storage
• 8gb RAM
• 8% weight reduction (221 grams)
• Brushed frame (doesn’t show fingerprints)
• Apple Intelligence
• 80% charge limit to preserve battery health
• Action button
• SOS via satellite
• Crash detection
• 2 additional years of software support
• Action mode video recording

If it were you, would you wait 5 more months to pay $1200 (+ your trade in now being worth less) for a base model 17 Pro Max? Or would you simply take the deal now on the 15 Pro Max?

I’m looking through the “improvements” since the 15 Pro Max (camera control?) and upcoming ones and am hard pressed to find something that I would be actually impressed by. Any new 17 series improvements that would actually make you wait?

I’ll stick with the 13 Pro Max for now—I upgraded from the 13 Pro Max to the 16 Pro Max last year for USB-C charging and noticeably better low-light photography (upgrades that are significant to me), but the core iOS experience—performance, battery life, display quality, Face ID security, and app ecosystem—still feels essentially the same to me.

I'm kinda in the same situation. I think I'd just wait until the 17 comes out. The 15PM sounds tempting now. But I still would wait and see what the price/features the new iPhone has before making a final decision.

Besides my 13PM still has 82% battery and still does everything I need it to do in the meantime.

Go for the 15PM IMO

I have a 13PM as my business mobile and it's fine for that. But the 15PM is better and a good upgrade / jump up

The 17 I don't think will be massively better than the 15. The 16 isn't much better than the 15 etc

I would wait for the 17PM, but then buy the 16PM because it will still be new, but the price will be reduced.

That's what will be happening for us this year. 11PM to 16PM when the 17PM launches.
