I like the look of the back of the white iPhone 5, yet for the screen side, I want the black borders that allow the device to disappear while you actually use it. Who else here sees this as the perfect combination?

Would it be that hard to swap screens/front panels?
 
What I want is to keep the all black except with a silver band. If the band does not come off I would go for what the OP is suggesting.

Nah but I would like to see what a black with a non-anodized silver back looks like though.
 
Went to the Apple Store yesterday , Genius had modified his phone to be like this, looked VERY good.
 
It looks like iFixit found the entire front panel and display to be removable easily. It's likely you'd have to buy a white iPhone 5 and get a replacement front panel and display for the black one. Guessing $150 to accomplish this, minus whatever you can get for a good condition white front ($100?)

LOL. Fair enough. I'd be curious to see the one mentioned above the Genius had modded up.

I actually just thought of that earlier. I was thinking it would be really cool if Apple made 4 color combos next year: all white, all black, white front with black back, and black front with white back. I'd personally choose the black front with white back. I currently have a white iPhone 5
 
Don't think that would look that great.

On the other hand, a black iPhone with white anodized aluminum band or a white one with a black band would look pretty sweet imo (colored bumper effect without the bumper)
 
I would love a silver anodized back on my black 5. Actually considered buying a white iPhone and a black front display, but decided against spending another $150 on this phone.
 
Those backs look nice, but I would rather keep the back and swap the front, since the original back has all the legal stuff attached to that specific phone.
 
True, like IMEI number as well..

Plus if you got a white back from that site with a black iPhone 5 in hand, won't you still have slate keys/lock button?
