A few months ago I managed to accidently kick the charger while it was plugged in, this resulted in the little direct plugin adapter getting loose at one end, I just snapped it back together and it worked just fine until today. Today the whole thing came apart (the adapter, not the charger) Went into the Apple Store asking for the part, the sales guy (genius?) who I talked to just said he would simply swap me a new one, free of charge.

In and out in two minutes, must have been in the holiday spirit :D

They charged me $7.99 for the duckbill.

That is until they couldn't charge me for it without charging me for the $300 repair that was covered under warranty as well.

Or his last customer had threatened to key his car lol

Good deal! I had a G4 charger catch fire  after school one day (out of warranty), took it in and told them what happened, the genius went in the back and grabbed a charger for me. Said since it was a safety hazard he would swap it out, outside of Applecare. About a ~$65 item, I was relieved I wouldn't have to rely on electrical tape to keep my house from burning down :D
