Woke up today and millions of people pre ordered in less than an hour..
I mean it's strange I thought 40 percent of the people were disappointed and now this is the most sold iPhone ever....doesn't make sense.
It's just..... proves that this iPhone will out sell all other android phones combined.
 
Marketshare is a useless statistic. If you have 200 options of android phone, of course you are going to lead in market share. Same with PC... Call me when Google and Microsoft are the most valuable company ever.

macrumos doesn exactly = everyone. you have to also consider the staggering amount of android trolls on here also.

Android phones also miss out on market share because of other android phones though. If the HTC One X didn't exist, no doubt more people would buy the Galaxy S3 and vice versa.

Certain android phones would rival the iPhone a lot more closely if so many Android phones didn't exist.

Also, you don't pay the Apple Tax when you get an Android phone, so no Android device maker will ever rival Apple in terms of profit.

How do you know millions pre-ordered in less than an hour? Were actual numbers released?

Where did you get the 40% of the people were disappointed number from?

We have no idea if this was the "most sold" iphone ever. We just know WHATEVER amount of iPhones Apple made available for pre-order sold out in an hour.

It doesn't prove anything other than the brilliance of Apple's marketing.
 
1. People always complain about every iPhone that comes out. It's normal because people expect too much, instead of expecting what's realistic.

2. People who complain post and express their thoughts more than people who aren't upset.

The overall population doesn't think like "IT geeks". They see the iPhone has a nice phone that works well. They don't care about having the "best specs" or all these "features" they'll never use.

What Apple tax? Last time I checked a Lumia 920 was $199, Galaxy S3 was $199, and the iPhone 5 is $199? :confused:

You are coming ONE PHONE (iPhone) to over 200 phones? Really? Is that a fair comparison? Shouldn't a fair comparison be phone vs phone? Not phone vs 200xphones.

Where did you get all of these sale numbers? :p The most uneducated post on these forums. And no. iPhone won't sell out all Android phones, good try though.

Comparing iPhone sales to all android phones combined isn't really fair is it? How about we wait and see how many iPhones were sold compared to the galaxy s3 and see which sold more?

None of those phones actually cost 199, go buy one without a contract. They'll be in the 300-700 dollar range.

Adjusted for inflation, in today's dollars. Microsoft was the most valuable company ever to exist. They were worth 850 billion dollars. Today, they aren't. They were number 1 for a very long time.

Apple has had amazing success, and they just might become the first trillion dollar company, but even then. They won't stay number 1 forever, just like Microsoft didnt.

Sure it is, its like comparing Windows PC sales to Mac sales. People do that all the time.

People are going to complain no matter what about anything, that's life.

It also depends on the community that you look at, etc. I would venture to say that some people who complained also purchased it regardless - also something to consider. Complaints in regards to a product doesn't always mean that the person complaining isn't going to buy it - silly but true.
 
Ben & Jerry's could announce they're going to offer FREE ice cream by mail and you'd have countless people complaining that it's not as good as their ice cream in store, it arrives a bit soft, it's not as quick as they thought, etc...

You see lots of complaining because that is what you are looking for.

As much as some people claim to despise negativity towards a product they like, the truth of the matter is that they are actively searching for negativity just so they can compound it with pointless complaining. Yes, some people are disatisfied BUT if you look at things as a whole then its easy to find a lot of people who are actually happy with it. Yet here we are listening to whining about the whiners as if one side is right and the other is wrong.

Personally, I love complainers just as long as they fully explain why it is they have a problem. It sure beats defenders who blindly praise things without even knowing why.

The US is not the only place in the world believe it or not. I happen to be in a non-US country where iPhones are more expensive than other phones, especially when bought outright rather than on contract.

If you two took more than 30 seconds to type out a frenzied response, you might realise that it wasn't me who started comparing the iPhone to Android phones... it was the person I replied to.
