Did a restore and I've been using the phone for almost half an hour and I'm still at 100% with everything on except Bluetooth! Before it would drop about 2% every 5 minutes or so! Restoring really works! I haven't even turned off the screen as yet

Pretty standard for normal phones... It goes to 99% around 30 mins. Here's a guideline from previous experience (used consistently, not left overnight because you loss around 1% every hour or so)

100% - 30 mins usage
97 % - 40 mins usage
93 % - 1 hr usage
75% - 2 hr 20 mins usage
60% - 3 hr 30 mins usage
50% - 4 hr usage
40% - 4 hr 30 mins usage
30% - 5 hr 15 mins usage
20% - 6 hr usage
10% - 6 hr 50 mins usage
5% - 7 hr 15 mins usage
1% - 7 hr 30 mins usage

That's my typical use anyway. No music.

The first 10% from 100 to 90 is not a good indicator of overall battery life. I had a day where it stayed at 99% for an hour of usage. Still ended up with the normal 8 hours or so. Not complaining, 8 is great, just saying the battery life indicator seems to drain more slowly at the beginning, faster as you get towards 50%, then at 1% you might get 15-20 minutes extra, as a little bonus. ;)

What type of restore did you do? iTunes restore-from-backup, iCloud, or set up as new? Thanks!

Mine's getting better each time I charged it full, using it non-stop until it totally drains by doing all the usual stuffs I do each day and so much more ... Rinse, Repeat even at work, lol. This beauty is a keeper but my should I exchange this Verizon iP5 with an AT&T iP5 dilemma continues (keeping unlimited data & taste the power of LTE before the throttling).

I had the same battery issue.
Did a backup to iCloud and connected the phone to iTunes and did a restore then directly restored from iCloud. Now I'm getting equally good battery time as thread starter!
So I didn't have to set up as new phone, thankfully! Happy again!!

Agree with several posts above.

My phone can get 30 minutes usage, 2+ hours standby and still be at 100%.

You can't judge the battery life until you're 5% or below.

Sorry to (maybe) spoil your excitement, but mine does the same thing...thennnn it nose dives from there. I can get an hour on 100%, but the phone still dies after 4-5 hours, with exactly the same usage

This is exactly what's happening
