How stupid is this?!

I hope the next tvOS will update the remote with previous/next buttons.
Mine getting returned. There's so much not right with it I don't like using it at all. I've actually disconnected mine now and connected up the old one.

Yes, it definitely doesn't seem ready to be released. I guess Apple felt time pressure with Roku4, FireTV2, and the holidays fast approaching.

Knew about those shortcuts. They're useless anywhere outside the Music app, which is the case for me 99% of the time.
I'm confused. You're complaining that there is "no way to skip to the next song via remote", but you don't like the solution to skip to the next song... Are you using a different music player?

That's called "a half-arsed solution". Very often, I listen to my music while browsing other parts of TV. To have to go back to Music app just to skip to the next track is an epic PITA.

I really dislike the lighter colour scheme as well. Its jarring going back to a white menu after you've been watching something in a darkened room, the black scheme of the older ATV was better.

I've found the touch pad scrolling worse as well, I just think its easier to navigate through the menus with the old D pad. Scrolling down my loooooooong list of my own content was a drag with the new ATV, with the old one if you held a button it flew down the list super quick. This one its scroll, scroll, scroll.

The music app isn't that great either, in the little time I spent with it before losing patience it was a pain.Go to an album then to shuffle the songs you have to scroll over click the more button then select shuffle because theres no shuffle button on the first screen.

Navigating my own content is the exact same menu thats been there since forever, nothing has changed. Its worse because (and again there might be a way to change it, but I lost patience) the computer icon is now a row lower.

I think we're perfectly justified to expect a polished product. It feels like a codge modge of ideas threw together quickly not a 4th generation product thats designed by a company purporting to sell premium stuff. Sigh, sorry for the rant, like I said mines going back and I'm sticking with my old one until something better comes along.

I agree you should demand the finished product from Apple. For the bolded part, that's what perplexes me. It's like no one in Apple TV group have home theatre. Since iOS 7 (after Scot Forstall) new Apple does this a lot: designing something new just for a sake of being new and have little care in how unintuitive it will be. Like when the old one was dark theme, the new one should be light just for the sake of being difference. I notice this (arrogant) trend a lot.

Why do people think that they are entitled to buy a product just to try out, and then return it for no reason than they don't like it? Don't people research their product purchases first any more, or (horror) drive to the Apple store to check it out?

Right, because there's so much information about the Apple TV 4 out there, being day one of its availability. And everything there is to know was always known before today. And all the Apple stores are of course set up with multiple home theater demos for people to play with.

Oh and news flash...people think they are entitled to return things they don't like to Apple because that's Apple's policy. Duh.

Do people even read what they write anymore?
