After hemming and hawing since the MBP TB was announced I finally caved this AM because I really expected to upgrade this year and decided waiting was pointless. (15" 2.6 model). Maybe Apple changed its MBP power adapters after the 2012 models, but I was quite saddened to notice the power adapter no longer has the fold-out arms to wrap the power cord around.

Add it to the long list of items Apple has removed or not included. It's a small thing, yes, but that attention to fine detail is what helped separate Apple from the beige box makers. Steve Jobs wouldn't approve but clearly this isn't Steve Jobs company even in spirit, no matter how many $200 books it dedicates to him.

Anyway, enjoying the faster machine at least, but it's painful to see Apple become an expensive Dell.

That's just one other thing that will be annoying. I use those arms every single day.

Right.
I say "good riddance"
I stopped recommending those cord wraps after the first time I saw one in for service that was wrapped up so tight that the wire was permanently kinked. I though that can't be good, and hoped that Apple would stop supplying something that could so easily cause damage. I'm sure lots of users never wrap that tight, but I saw it dozens of times in an Apple specialist over the last 15 years.
I have always taught loose loops, keeping that in control with a nice rubber band.

With a removable cable now the arms had no real purpose anyways. just coil it separate.

That's the way I see it. I get it when features are removed it's touchy because What you use everyday I may not care about so it's subjective.

I'm not sold on a 2016, but being a cord wrapper myself I wouldn't miss this. To me I care about space saving. Detaching the cable from the brick and wrapping separately will take up less space.
