Just upgraded from my 3GS and I've been trying to figure out how to speak for it to understand me. It seems like it could be nice to just say texts or set things with my voice but it's very unpredictable. :(

What region are you from? I've found that Siri has a hard time understanding Pittsburghese.

Some peeps talk as if they have a richard in their mouth.
U can't babble, u need to anunciate for siri to properly understand you.
I catch myself using "slang" words sometimes, which she doesn't understand either.
If anything, she will help us learn how to speak more properly. :)

For me the problem is that Siri understands 95% when I dictate a text. However when I ask it to do something it understands less than 30%. This puzzles me.

It seems that part of the problem is when you ask something it can't do then it tries to match other words to whatever you say in order to find something it actually could do and it gets confused.

But even for simple things like set an alarm it more often than not does not understand me.

It's basically useless to me. I don't care since I didn't plan to use it anyway.

Hopefully she can also teach us to write properly.

Where are you from? I'm not a native English speaker, but Siri appears to understand me perfectly fine.
