I watched two recent episodes of the Daily Show today, and literally could not make it through either one. It seems like Jon Stewart used to make extremely perceptive observations about politics, but he's cut a lot of the politics out of his show lately. I noticed that he spent too long on each topic, doing nothing but making faces and yelling a lot.

The one good moment was when he called John Boehner out on his hypocrisy in supporting all of GWB's heavy spending (tax cuts, unfunded wars, Medicare prescription benefit changes) and suddenly becoming a fiscal conservative when Obama entered office.

Anyways, it's sad to see such an influential show circling the drain. Does anyone else feel this way?

Not at all. When you have $#*! to try to make funny, it's tough. US politics these days isn't exactly hilarious. But I know producers at the Daily Show, and I think they are doing a brilliant job with what they have to work with.
