Haha. It's not. Why do think they made two differnt crystals. If both didn't scratch there would be no need for the sapphire

The Ion X will definitely scratch easier since it is not Saphire.. My guess

Because Al the SS buyers now think they bought the holy grail.
I got a pebble steel for one year now with Gorilla Glass on it. Not one scratch on it.

Sapphire is great for a Rolex or something, watches that last a couple of decades. For a gadget its not that special if you just handle your watch with care.

I'm glad I didn't see a knife test, a knife won't do anything to glass. The real problem is grit.
