Thought I'd share a cool feature of Word 2011:

For my paper, I was going with this tyling:

  • Bold. Non-bold sentence...
  • Bold. Non-bold sentence....

After the first two times, it caught onto the pattern and would make the first sentence bold then after the period, it would turn off bold.

Has this always been a feature? This is the first time it's actually caught onto a pattern and helped me. Usually it gets annoying.

Any other cool features you've found in Office 2011 for Mac?

I think auto format as you type has been there a release or two, for fractions and whatnot at least. Not sure it's new, or smart, but I won't consider word smart until it knows that I hate when it opens a document in Notebook Layout View, and I just want that tool erased from the interface. Cheers!

No, it is not new. AFAIK, it dates back to Word 97 on Windows and Word 98 on the Mac. As for whether it is cool or annoying, there is no question. It is annoying. More than annoying, it is a major productivity killer.
