2 major pieces of functionality are currently missing from Windows Phone 8:
* local search(apps, music/videos, emails, text messages)
* notifications
Imagine taking advantage of the Windows Phone panorama app concept. Create a new WP core app called "Local". The first pivot would be "Search" and the 2nd would be "Notifications". It would operate in exactly the same way as any other WP panorama app, you can keep swiping around forever between the 2 columns.
The way to get there would be via 2 methods.
1. swipe from the left side of the screen from the home screen.
2. long press the search capacitive button
This way 2 major holes get taken care of in one fell swoop.
