I have never used my Ethernet port before, yet it is scratched and dented and it is also warped above it. I took it into the Mac Store, and they said someone must have been jabbing random things into it and yanking them out, but all of the small pieces on the inside of the port are fine. So if the inside with the delicate part is fine, clearly nothing has been jammed in there.
